subwoofer settings

I calibrated my PSW505 with a radio shack spl meter. I have the volume knob on the sub set to 12 o'clock position and on my Outlaw 950 I have the subwoofer at -7. I calibrated my speakers to 75 db including the sub. This is with my main volume set to 0. I did a search on you guys settings and it seems like all of you like to set the sub up a couple of db. What do you guys recommend on this. Dr. Spec seems to be real knowledgeable in this area. Let me know what you think.

    That's an understatement. What calibration disc did you use? Remember that the SPL meter reads low on low frequecies so on a sub calibrated to 75 dB, may actually be about 77.5 dB or a couple dB hotter than the mains.
