Player finally stopped reading discs so I replaced the laser. My dilema is that the picture isn’t as good as it was before, it’s not nearly as fluid with movement and by this it’s like the picture has an echo to it.
Did I miss something when replacing it or is the aftermarket laser worth the trouble?
I read something about laser alignment one time but don’t know anything else about it. I’ve replaced them in other players and it didn’t seem to change the picture.

I take it you removed the solder blob? Check and clean the laser lens. If you still have the problem the laser alignment is off, which generally takes an oscilloscope to adjust.Political Correctness'.........defined

I remember the denon lasers had those but didn’t see one on this laser. I’ll take it out and look at it. I gotta fix the tray again anyway. I’ll read some on adjusting it too for fun.Home theater:

The only photos I found of the pickup online aren't helpful in determining if there is a solder blob.Political Correctness'.........defined
