Polk react music not playing through speakers

Hello I've been using the polk react for a while now and recently bought the subwoofer with 2 speakers package. Whenever I play music it does not play through the speakers. Only through the soundbar. Is there a setting I need to change? I tried looking through the manual and nothing has helped so far.
I've tried playing through Alexa app and bluetooth. I am connected with hdmi arc

The surround speakers are probably set up for decoding Dolby Digital rear channel information. Unless you're able to change the source to one encoded for surround sound there's nothing for them to reproduce.

I'm assuming there's no way to change that setting and just set them up as speakers while I play music? Do you have any recommended solutions or setups with this soundbar?

If you hit the "music" button twice it will put the surround speakers on.
