    Should be an interesting project. It's all end grain, so it may not take a stain uniformly. But there are ways around that, if desired. Ask the expert here, F1. If making tables, you may be applying a satin or gloss sheen poly as a top coat. Keep us posted.

    The sun is definitely not your friend in this situation. Shade and the ability for air to move on both sides is what you want.
