Popping noise

Ok I have a seperate amp running my high's in the front. The amp is an optimus 100W, yeah definately not the best. But whenever I crank up the volume the front left speaker makes a loud popping noise. Could this be a ground problem?? Thats the only thing I can think of. Thanks

It's not a ground problem, that would be a humming noise. Try swapping the left and right speakers to see if the problem follows the speaker. If it does then you have a problem with a bad driver, if it doesn't then you have a problem with the amp.Political Correctness'.........defined

Well all I did was run the front speakers directly off the Head Unit. No popping noise or anything, thanks for the reply.

Garry,
You are welcome. So, is it time for a new amp?

Oh yeah big time, not sure yet what i'm going to do. It's 2:30 in the morning and I just got done installing an amp in my friends prelude. Took me an hour to figure out how I was going to get through the frickin fire wall on that thing. I tell ya, imports have so many electronics it makes me want to cry. But at least its done, I might post pics soon. I'll let ya know.
