Warranty registration is a PITA

I am trying to register for the warranty on my R200's and L600's. The 200's went fine, the sign up is a bit clunky. If you make an entry error, it just says "error", but doesn't say what the error is.

Now trying to register my L600's and it won't let me skip the "dealer" section. It wants me to choose the dealer I bought them from. I bought direct from Polk Audio. Of course this is not a choice.

Do I just fill in my local dealer? I have to choose something or it will continue to show an error and won't let me register them.

These simple things should not be so frustrating!! The registration part of the website looks like a 5 year old designed it....lol

I ran into the same problem with my L900's. I haven't tried again to register them yet.

    I agree it's a joke.

I had same issue last year when I got my L800’s and L400. I could only register one of the L800’s. I emailed CS and they said they would do it for me. No idea if that happened but I saved the emails in case there is an issue later. I believe they were offering 10 years on the L800’s at the time on the 800’s for original owner if they were registered with Polk.

This thread reminded me to register the 900's. Only reason I register is for the 5 to 10 year warranty extension. Same problem as you guys....

I selected "Music Direct" and in the "Description" box documented purchasing them from Polk Online, the problem w/their registration page and why I selected Music Direct as the workaround. Didn't verify the 800's I purchased way back when but kind of remember doing this, too, back then. Either way, I have the PO's for each set if needed.

I've seen Polk Audio (original company) and Sound United be excellent about warranty issues. But I spent a lot of money on the L600's and I thought just to be 100% iron clad, I should register them....just in case. Never know about Masimo company who it seems merged with Sound United.

It was just a very odd part of the website that seemed unfinished and really, really clunky and un-user friendly.

Now that they've merged, who knows if warranty claims will be as easy and generous as in the past. That's why I decided to try and register the products and the extra 5 years extension is nice.

I would think if they were purchased directly from the manufacturer you would automatically be registered.
    Gustard X26 Pro DAC
Belles 21A Pre modded with Mundorf Supreme caps
B&K M200 Sonata monoblocks refreshed and upgraded
    Polk SDA 1C's modded / 1000Va Dreadnaught
Wireworld Silver Eclipse IC's and speaker cables
Harman Kardon T65C w/Grado Gold. (Don't laugh. It sounds great!)

I have nothing to base this on but it could be sales from the Polk direct site are already "registered" with them? They have records of the sales. They wouldn't know who the buyers of their products through dealers are unless buyers registered them and registering is a good way to weed out the grey market stuff.

Still, worth double checking with customer service to see if the ten years extended is still in effect and if it's necessary to register with them for products sold directly by Sound United.

I would hope so, but in life I've learned not to assume anything...... :D

I had issues with registering my R600's as well. Sent them an email with the serial #'s and they (whoever they were) did the registration. If you make an account with them you can check and the speakers should show up, mine did, along with the Marantz amp...
