L200 3.8 ohm

Hi peeps !! Appreciate your help so far on heavily considering purchasing brand new L200 for my upstairs loft to put in place of my old Klipsch. I noticed these dip into 3.8 ohm. My 50 pound Yammie AS2200 integrated is 4 ohm rated and in the manual it’s shows dynamic power down to 2 ohms. I would think the Polk even dipping to 3.8 ohm should be of no concern to this amp but just want to make sure. I would think it should be more than good , but just want to get your thoughts or experiences. I do have the amp in a open rack with clearance around it too.

I appreciate it once again guys :)

When I demoed the L200s I used a musical fidelity A308 integrated. Pretty similar specs. My downstairs is mostly open concept and over 3000 sq ft with 20+ foot ceilings in the entry way. Ran them full range. Sounded awesome, especially at higher volumes. I think you’ll be fine…

My review is somewhere in this thread, as are a bunch of others…https://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/187750/official-polk-l200-demo-program/p1

Polk's info pages now show the L200 with a nominal impedance range of 3.6 ohm to 4.0 ohm. The L800 are shown as having a nominal impedance range of 2.8 ohm to 4.0 ohm. Not sure if the product pages always said that. Crutchfield did call me when I bought my first pair of L800s to confirm I had a high current 4 ohm stable amp capable of driving them. The L800s to me require a separate amp with only some integrated amps, similar to an Anthem STR product, being good enough. They're almost in the territory of Magnepans for being hard loads to drive to their full performance capabilities. The L200s aren't nearly as demanding.

The AS2200 is fine with the L200. I'd have no concerns with driving the L200s with one. I can't say the same for using it with the L800s. The sensitivity ratings on the Legend speakers are also relatively low. They're designed to be run with high quality gear.

    It'll be fine, buy them.

Edit: I'm actually super excited for you to hear them, especially with your supporting gear, because they are going to absolutely trounce the Klipsch speakers.

Pretty benign impedance and phase curves, particularly for a modern loudspeaker.

(free-space measurement, so actually probably fairly accurate and representative)

Yes. Yes they will leave the Klipsch as far behind as Arkansas is from Baltimore... umm, I mean... China.
