It's all good Brody, and you are welcome to strike up good conversation here at CP anytime. Generally we accomplish that without stepping on each other's toes
Every now and then, a thread heads south - even with the most level headed of members at the helm. That's why we have the Hall Of Shame.
Large vs. Small is a good discussion topic, and both methods have pros and cons. A truly full range system at all channels CAN be exciting, but is challenging and expensive to do right.
If I was going to try full range at all channels, I'd probably run all the channels on Large and the Sub to On/Yes.
I would install a quality 2nd order 80 Hz high pass in-line filter at each surround speaker. Then I'd run the pre-out from each channel to a dedicated sub at each channel location. I'd set the sub 2nd order low pass filter to 80 Hz. The result would be a true full range speaker at each channel.
And finally, I'd have a 7th sub for just the LFE channel (which would be the only signal being sent out the subwoofer pre-out). This sub would need to be larger and more powerful than the other 6 subs, since the LFE channel is sometimes used almost exclusively for bass vice the surround channels.
Or, I could just buy Wilson Watt Puppy's for each channel, and a B4-Plus for the LFE channel and be done with it."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

Let me know when you have that last solution implemented and I'll come over for a listen ...

Don't think the Mrs would be too happy about that!
By the way I am going to cut out the below 15hz to the sub, maybe one of those SVS ones or a custom job here, the SVS at $200- us (for non sub owners) puts it into the catagory of having to pay 32.5% import duty (varies on items) and GST once it hits NZ. We can land stuff here withough having to pay the duty but it has a limit, as soon as it's over $50- duty to pay they like to collect the money, less than $50- and its not worth their hassle, so maybe a custom job.
Got sent a review on the NAD saying it can handel loads of down to 1 ohm though, pretty happy with that, looks like I will keep it, bit of an overkill for just a sub amp but it works.
Hey Rick, if you think there are any interested you are welcome to post those pics of the sub build.
Regards all.

I've tried both ways...with two sets of speakers.
I had the RTi150s and no sub,,,ran those on large.
I now have the RTi70s with an SVS. I've tried running the speakers both ways...I prefer running on 'small'. I feel like I get MUCH better mids and highs that way...and I also get a more flat FR sweep with the SVS.
