Currently, I run an HDMI from my Oppo UHD 203 to my Marantz SR 5011. It handles both audio and video.
Just curious if I'd have better sound quality if I ran the audio via the audio out presents?
Does the HDMI diminish the sound quality at all?

I recommend trying both methods but I have found that I prefer to have the receiver doing the processing with the Oppo disc players. Not really because of significant performance differences but because it just takes one cable for everything. You may notice putting the Oppo 203 into pure audio mode makes more of a difference regardless of connection method. I was actually doing that yesterday evening.
I have an SR7011 and recall it will receive DSD over HDMI if playing SACDs.
