Hyundai 2.0l

So finally they have settled a lawsuit about 2.0 engines.
In the past, all turbo versions were a known issue.
The 2.0l Elantra gt non-turbo engines had the same
Rod bearing issues, but they ignored it. My wife's car is
A 2016 with less than 30k on it, so no issues here.
Twice a year oil changes with full synthetic regardless
of milage. They sent out a recall fora knock sensor update
that senses early stages of failure. I had it done.
Now a letter about a 15 year 150k coverage about the
issue was sent, along with a reminder of oil changes
every year or 7500 miles. Who in their right mind waits
that long? They also mentioned documenting your oil changes.
I'm pretty sure they are going to use that as a no coverage
escape hatch. I always do my own. Not sure how to
CYA that other than dropping the coin on shop changes.
I did find a place doing oil that encourages owners to watch.
I used thme before buying my house after the move here.
None of that "special " oil filters like some places doing
fast changes use. I remember seeing those mini cheap
ones used by the big chains. No thanks.
I'm going to go talk to a service manager dealership
About it.
