Found these on Ebay. I Know!-But these are the only ones that I could find in 34uf other than the $100.00 Sonicrafts. Would these be acceptable in lower path for the passive woofer early 7Bs? Or would it be better to go with 33uf?

You didn't specify what type of film, but I suspect they would work. Will they sound as good as Sonicraft? Who knows (for the record, I used SoniCaps when I did my XO rebuild). One note about the value: when I measured the (old) caps, they came in at 36uF--more than the original/target value of 34uF. I doubt you'll find anyone here who has tried those caps in an audio circuit. The manufacturer themselves do not market them for audio circuits. Just HID lighting and Motor Run. The voltage is barely adequate since it is rated at 250VAC. The DC rating would be 125 V.George / NJ

Actually the math works the other way.
They're *roughly* 350v DC capable
If those in the ebay ad are the 950 series they are not half bad. I've used that series for interstage coupling in a tube amp build & was not unhappy.
Don't forget that you're looking at 10% tolerance spec, at best, on the originals so even a 33uF is not out of line if the budget demands it.
I used Mundorfs on my 7 rebuild & I was pleased. -
Thanks for the correction. I should've checked to verify.

I would think you could use a 33uF cap, especially if the seller will find ones that match and are towards the high end of tolerance. Some of them will do that for a little more money.George / NJ

Less expensive, tighter tolerance, ships from USA instead of Taiwan.
The ERSE website is down right now, or I'd give you a link to their 3% tolerance caps.
1uF difference is not enough to make any functional difference. -
I think I am going to go with Clarity CSA caps! I really like these for the money.
-
I used the erse in a monitor 10 and was very happy.
-
I was going to suggest Clarity Cap. I have a pair of 7’s with Clarity Cap PX for the LF and they are inexpensive if your budget is tight and sound good after break-in of course
-
Clarity Cap CSA are better of course if the budget allows

Is it true that Monitor 7s used 33uf-35uf ? If so could I use a 35uf and still be within spec? If not then could I use a 16uf and 18uf to get the 34uf
-
6 x 5.6uf caps in parallel- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The original cap is 34uf. If you dont want to spring for the Sonicaps you can go with a combo to get close. 33 or 35, either one keeps you well within 10% of the original. I used ClarityCap PX and combined a 15uf and 18uf.
-
Why did you combine a 15uf and 18uf when a 33uf is plenty available?
-
No reason to combine if the correct value is available. Correct values are not always in stock so combining 2 capacitors was my best option.
