I recently moved to a house which has Polk inwall system. Now I am a beginner with these things. I see that there is hdmi cable and another cable (can be antenna cable or speaker cable, no clue) coming out of a socket. How do I connect these speakers to my tv ? There are 5 speakers in total. 3 on the front and 2 on the rear. Can someone please help ?

  • @txcoastal1 thanks a lot for your reply. Do these receivers take hdmi as input ? What is that hdmi cable from the wall socket ?

Is there a closet or a space where you see a bunch of wires? If yes, this is where they had the receiver. That coax is for antenna/cable service, HDMI is for your TV signal from receiver to the TV. Where all these wires go to is where the receiver was located.

  • I searched the whole house and couldn’t find a place where a receiver could have been located or a place where bunch of wires go. The file that you sent can’t be accessed. @txcoastal1

There has to be a hub or a cabinet in the house somewhere

Something like this with a cover

The OP is likely in Australia or New Zealand.

OP, there has to be a location where the connections for the in wall speakers is accessible unless they were never connected, which while possible seems highly unlikely.

Could be simply bare speaker cable or binding posts mounted on a wall plate.

If the wall behind the front 3 is open you should be able to see if there are speaker cables connected to the speakers and be able to follow the cables. If the wall is closed remove one of the speakers to check if it even has speaker cables connected to it.

All I can think of is pull out one of the speakers, and disconnect it. Purchase a low voltage tone generator (wire tracer)

Connect the tone generator to the speaker wire at the speaker. Take the wand which should pick up the tone to locate the speaker wire bundle in-wall.

I do this kind of stuff for a living, but you live a little to far
