The problem is that everybody thinks they have common sense. Kind of like some of the people who say, “We used to do that all the when we were kids and we turned out alright.” Did you? Did you really turn out alright, because I’ve got a little different opinion on that.🤣🤣🤣

Not to be flippant about this very serious subject, but I have to observe that there can be no "common sense" before there is "sense in common" -- that is, before there are shared values, beliefs, and ideas among a vast plurality of the relevant society. In the USA today, there is not even "sense in common" about mathematics, science or history, let alone about religion, morality or basic principles like freedom of speech and expression, which constitute the fabric of a "society." There is no belief in "one from many" in today's America.

In order to get us kumbaya...and not in religious sense, but in a civil sense it will take another catastrophe. Might be war, nature, or an attack on western civilization.

It's ok to have a difference in opinion, but it is not ok to whole heartedly silence that opinion

Too bad we can't just come together, without having a reason like a catastrophe to come together.

I've often thought of that. Just imagine what could be accomplished if we all got along and all worked together towards a common goal.

I think the last time that truly happened in the U.S. was WWII..., of course, back then we also could define a man and a woman...

You still can define man and women, it's just a select few looking to stand out and feel the need to belong to their own group, catself clownself..... it's just gone way too far. How is it we only celebrate 1 day for our Vets but LQBTQLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ group gets a full month...WTF is that. Please note I am no way against individual lifestyles what so ever, I have **** friends and family members. I just think we lost sense of reality and what really matters.

Every time I think this thought, I'm reminded of a line from one of the Star Trek films, I forget which. Coincidentally, also an imaginary world.

DS9 - Chief O'Brien did time in an alien prison and killed his cellmate over some food. His character stated that in the Trek realm humans like to think they've evolved beyond such things but when it came down to it, we haven't...
