Usher 520 available locally for $225...worth it?
Bi-wire speaker cables are included.
I know these are entry-level Ushers, but seems like a good deal.

Usher fan here...Never heard this model.
When you say local, how far...
Intended use, or want to try??
Smaller Ushers were never prominent in the bass range. Great mids and highs...it why I ask about intended use.

It would be about a 45-minute drive each way...basically, the other side of town.
As far as intended use, these would be more for curiosity and bull-pen usage, or giving to a friend or family member down-the-road. I would definitely incorporate a sub with them.
I just know that some people gush over Usher speakers, so when I see something like this locally, it piques my interest."This may not matter to you, but it does to me for various reasons, many of them illogical or irrational, but the vinyl hobby is not really logical or rational..." - member on Vinyl Engine

I would offer 150 and see what happens- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The price seems ok. I’d want x-series, personally, but that is more $$$$.CD Players: Sony CDP-211; Sony DVP-S9000ES; Sony UDP-X800M2 (x2); Cambridge Audio CXC

Thanks, fellas. I think I'll also ask more specifics about the included speaker cables...make/model/length. They look to be fairly substantial in size.
Also good to have the speaking point about the 'x-series'."This may not matter to you, but it does to me for various reasons, many of them illogical or irrational, but the vinyl hobby is not really logical or rational..." - member on Vinyl Engine

Speaker cables are 8ft-long Signal Cables...not too shabby."This may not matter to you, but it does to me for various reasons, many of them illogical or irrational, but the vinyl hobby is not really logical or rational..." - member on Vinyl Engine

With the cables that’s not too bad. Could probably go a little lower, especially if they aren’t meeting you halfway on the drive.
I think those would be a really fun set on a computer/desktop system. Or even a guest room.Analog: MoFi MasterTracker > MoFi UltraDeck > Sutherland 20/20
