Cell phone to stereo?

My wife would like to have her cell phone songs to play on our stereo, I have no idea how to do this.
We have an older stereo setup. Separate components.
But, we do have an Oppo 105 player, is there a way to hook up her iPhone to it for decoding?
If so, what would I need to make that happen?

Agreed on the cell to BT unit. I do the same thing with my cell with good results. The sound quality isn't cd quality but the convenience makes up for that one short coming when background music is what's needed.

A Network Audio Player can be used via the phone, computer, iPad, whatever really.
But please note....not all NAP's can run off of any phone. For example, My Auralic can only be operated with Apple products. Futher note.....they are very convenient and there are many sources that you can use for the music. Tidal and Qobuz are the top two but iHeart Radio, Amazon music, Spotify and a host of others can get you more songs than you will ever have the chance to listen too. FWIW.

All our phones, computers & pads are Apple.
Auralic you like?
Auralic communicates well with the Oppo 105D?
Will a noob such as me figure it out 🤣 -
I flat out love the Auralic but......and this is a very strong and emphasized, "BUT".....it took me more than a year to get the daggum thing to actually play a full song or 3. It had nothing to do with the unit, it was all about my wi-fi signal going back to the stereo room. Doing exactly what the engineers told me NOT to do (use a mesh network) is what ultimately fixed it. Now it works, plays and operates flawlessly and I am having a blast with it.
I started my NAP journey with a BlueSound Node 2. It was not up my alley due to the resolution of my rig, so I got a external DAC for it and that greatly improved things. That said, I had a pretty high bar to compare it too. Not everyone has the digital playback capability I have and many people use just that (the BS Node2) and nothing else. In fact, the local audio stores, even some of the higher end ones, use the BS Node 2 exclusively for ALL of their systems.
FWIW, you can operate the unit from any phone, iPad, computer or really any device that is connected to the wi-fi. I used to listen to music and operate the BS Node 2 from my computer flawlessly. If a phone call came in while I was at work, I simply muted the system from the computer and hit resume when the phone call was over. Easy peasey.
Yeah, anyone can figure it out. It's pretty easy. Now, getting the utmost of sound out of them? Well, my journey has really just begun but I'll tell you this.....I am enjoying the heck out of it! So much more to learn and experience versus normal digital playback.
If you are interested, I still have the BS just sitting in the closet, collecting dust. Maybe we can work something out. Just LMK and we will go from there. I was gonna keep it for another system out in the shop but I'll probably never get around to it. I have enough on my plate as is.

Tom is hooking me up with a BS.
A sweet Christmas present for the wiff...... -
Didn't do it. Nobody saw it. Can't prove a thing....
It's all about the convenience for the "other halves". An added bonus? They stay away from your gear. It's just up to you to get the rig up and running, set the volume correctly and they are good to go.

Bahahaaaaa....
I'm stepping into the 21st century. -
Welcome to the beginning of your next journey!
Mine started when I bought this. I always "hated" (said loosely), the convenience crowd....yet? Here I am.
Enjoying immensly what I once despised. Go figure....

Hope not.
The other half couldn't stand me pursuing another -
I think I’ve got something you can have (maybe pay shipping). Let me double check and make sure it will work from cell phone to Oppo.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden

Tom what model do you have? I have been wanting to jump in the game here for a few, and I have wondered how the Auralic compares to Cary's offerings. Auralic has more to choose from, and I like the fact some have storage but not necessarily needed if one has his catalog on an SSD.
Both come with a price to jump in.
Not going to lie here but when I do pull the trigger I will be like a fish out of water for a few getting it all set up. It seems simple yet complicated..
-
Just the BlueSound Node 2. I can't comment on the Cary NAP's, as I have not heard one.

I may have an unpopular opinion on the matter, but I would stay away from brands that don't specialize in streamers as a primary streamer.
Smaller manufactures will have a tough time keeping up with lumin, auralic, aurender, bluesound when it comes to updates and such and may abandon their support all together.
Same reason small esoteric manufactures always failed in the home theater space.
I receive almost monthly updates from lumin, they are always improving the units- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Not unpopular at all. Was thinking relatively the same thing...When it comes to streamers, buy one from a streaming company. If Auralic came out with an amp, I'd probably not even think to buy one2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
Desktop rig: LSi7, Polk 110sub, Dayens Ampino amp, W4S DAC/pre, Sonos, JRiver
Gear on standby: Melody 101 tube pre, Unison Research Simply Italy Integrated
Gone to new homes: (Matt Polk's)Threshold Stasis SA12e monoblocks, Pass XA30.5 amp, Usher MD2 speakers, Dynaudio C4 platinum speakers, Modwright LS100 (voltz), Simaudio 780D DAC
