Koetsu stone cartridges

Has anyone here auditioned or heard or considered or dreamed of a Koetsu stone cart?

I dream of something like the Koetsu Jade.

Better yet, get one of each.

Logic says to me that stone does not make for a good cart body. Being a natural material each piece of stone used will have a different structure. Not what one wants, IMO.

But will Joey be able to accurately identify those variations while listening to his audiophile Top 40 record collection, or in a double blind listening test? And correctly identify which stone body is in use 9/10 times, or with an equivalent reasonable degree of accuracy?

Didn't you just say in another post that you have hit the point of diminishing returns?

    LOL.

You have a sickness. I feel your pain. :)

    Hey Tom
Yeah, I was wondering about an anti-Lyra.
Might be cool to also take some wear off the Etna.

Eh, if you have the ability to have some spares or different "flavors" of carts? Go for it!

I have known of people to have a plethora of IC's, simply hanging in a closet for a different sound. I don't mean 3 or 4 cables. I'm talking about more than 100 upper to esoteric cables "properly" hung up, labeled and ready to install into his rig...

Just for a different flavor or for changes he made to his system. To do the same for carts? I wouldn't think that would be to much off the mark.

We may not be on the same level of gear but the sickness is the same, without a doubt.

I'll look into what Joshua at JMW currently uses in his vinyl setup. He rarely speaks of carts but he certainly likes the one he is currently using. Heck, I loved the one he was using, TBT.

It would be on the second arm so it’s not any trouble to reinstall the carts.
The avenger can handle 3 arms… 2 arms with ease.
On the flip side, seeing as carts are consumable goods, would be nice to reduce wear for sure on the Etna. No sense in getting a cart too similar to the Lyra Etna, so I figured either a mono cart or if a stereo cart, then go with a Koetsu stone.

With mono, I’m limited in software.

With another stereo, I’m maxed out at software choice.

That’s kinda where I’m at with my thinking.

Synergy and satisfaction, Joey. You know the drill. Keep going til you get there. You might not even realize you're there at first. For me it was the realization that I'd stopped chasing (integrateds, specifically, was my first experience with satisfsction)

    That’s awesome bro

Too bad I’m the only one in my practice

No one else understands my audio hobby. But they have no problem understanding the Mclaren or F-car purchase. I drive a certified used Lexus RX Fsport. Nothing fancy but it’s comfortable and reliable.

But I indulge in the one hobby that keeps me sane.

No one in my circle understands me, they think I’m a lunatic. That’s why I have my Dallas Audiophile Club.

The fatboy seems alone. Either it gets sold to this guy who wants it… or I keep it and attach a Koetsu to it.6feqnxfgvjnd.jpeg

Let them think what they will. They have their hobbies? We have ours.

After a day's hard work, what is more relaxing, rewarding, fulfilling, sublime or otherwise BLISS than listening to music?

    Besides the "obvious"?

That's sad! The receptionist allows for extra time with my appointment so we can talk audio. I needed a crown after breaking a tooth. (I fell, had a severe case of vertigo). He talks, I remember everything and respond when he is finished working.
