Which car would you choose?

ChargerHad to go with the Charger.
Reason is… this is the one car I shouldn’t have sold.
Sold her in 1986 for 4 grand.
If I’d only known… -
That's a tough choice. I'm a big Pontiac fan, so it might come down to engines.
If the GTO has the Ram Air IV, then the goat, if the Charger has the 426...I might have to go with the Dodge, but blindly.....would be the GTO.
Chevelle is such a sweet car, the 454 is definitely proven...but the GTO has more of a cool pedigree. -
GTOLoved the GTO since I was a kid. One of my uncles had three of them. I could always hear him coming to visit from blocks away. Sadly he’s down to just a 1970.

Hemi cuda. Love the style and everything about it.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
ChevelleShort list
69 Camero
69-70 mustang fastback
Early 70's Cuda or challenger
Had a 71 fastback mustang, almost bought a 70
Fastback, but got the 69 camero instead.
I prefer 65-67 gto. The 67, 70 and 71 chevelle are good as well.
My son was a big Trans am fan. He had a 79 Trans am in high school
He also had one of the last Trans ams ever made(2002)."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
Borgward Isabella.

I'm getting a bit of a Studebaker vibe as well.

GTOI had a 66 tempist tri-power. That thing was a pain in the booty to keep running right. Then I had a 69 Catalina convertible with the 428 HO motor. Much easier to keep tuned.
Either car with the old cheap pollyglass tires would smoke the tires as long as you held the peddle down. Those tires could not grip anything .Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -
ChargerWell they gripped the rim and that was all......
-
GTOI love my sisters, I would let them choose first and be happy with the leftover...............nah, I would take the goat

When I was a kid, my father had a friend who had a Borgward.
Of course, one of my uncles (my father's youngest brother) had a Renault Dauphine in roughly the same time frame, so my frame of reference was a bit skewed.
It was roughly the same color as above, as I remember: sort of a greyish-blue-phlegm-ish hue.

Back to the OP.....I am still (months later) debating on the Chevelle and the Goat. There is just "something" about that Chevelle that.....well, can't really describe it. Whenever I see one in person, I get excited. I think the photo doesn't do it justice. Now, if "Dad" had this Goat?
There would be no contest.

ChevelleMy 68 Z/28 with 3:73 rear would do 70 mph in 1st at 7,200 RPM, 90 in 2nd and 120 in 3rd. I don't know what it would have done in 4th, but I had it up to 6,800 RPM in 4th on LBJ Freeway in Dallas right after they opened it my junior year school (1968). If was still pulling but the intersection of LBJ and 35 North was getting close and I wasn't sure I could make the turn so I backed off. I was also worried about the tires as I didn't know what the top speed rating was on them.
If you can believe this we use to go do our top end races there as there was no traffic to speak of back then. North Dallas was south of LBJ.
BTW the RPM reading was with a Sun tach as the factory tachs weren't that good back then. The smog pump belt was off and the 780 dual feed Holley carb was re-jetted as it would die above 6,500 RPM as it was jetted too lean. I could knock of nearly a second in the quarter by putting bigger jets in and taking the smog pump belt off.
Not saying there was some cars out there that were faster on top end in my area, but I never got beat on top end with that car as no one that had one raced me. In a drag race yes, but not that often.
I did a lot of street racing back then usually every Friday night if I didn't have a date.
Sure wish I still had that car.
