Luckily I followed the advice of Warren Buffett who said he wouldn't pay $25 for all the crypto in the world. Smart man.
  • Made off and Bankman Fried...that should have been a tip-off right there.

This is rapidly spilling over into the real finance world.
Add to it account hacking and frozen assets.
The guy pushed 10's of millions into the 2020 and 2022
elections. There was a good reason this slimeball had
his company headquartered out of country.
I guess Tom Brady is now broke. Oops.

    Anything digital is not safe.

I fell into 10k that I was able to invest.
    Put it into Ethereum @ 1900... :o
Only thing that keeps me sane is I'm in for the long haul.

Hope it doesn't end up like my Dad investing money in Bethlehem Steel back in the day. He had a chance to put his money into Bethlehem Steel or this new start up company called Polaroid... him being very conservative he went with the steel company.

Turns out Sam is a huge benefactor of a certain political party as well....

You're back on my BOZO list...

    WHY?

    It’s the truth after all….

Truth or not, political talk or innuendos on the subject are not allowed here. Well unless you're a member of the Clown Posse.

Aren’t YOU talking politics, and thus violating the rules with this post? I mean, you typed the word “political”…?

Oh, and I’m shocked (not) that you so quickly resorted to name calling. Sad.

It's all about a bigger picture. A whole lot of reality is getting ready to
B!tchsl@p markets, both traditional and blockchain. 2021 and 2020
were surreal. Real estate, stock prices, and crypto/NFT speculation
was out of control. Everybody knew it, but the "experts" just closed
their eyes and went along with it. So did government. Go back and
read the articles full of glowing praise for a lot of this year's big
Tech and crypto. Bankman-Fried was heralded as a genius.
More like a devious bad guy from an Austin Powers movie.
No one in finance in America learned a d@mn thing from the
Internet start up bubble or the real-estate melt down of 2008.
There's a. LOT more to come. Wait till places like Carvana go
bust. Another big one built on big ideas. One profitable quarter.
Ever. And their inventory of cars is now underwater.

And they want to digitize all currency?

You will own nothing (especially money/assets) and like it.

So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

They already track ownership of cars and houses? Not sure I'm following there

Otherwise agreed that having a currency solely based on the internet... Hard to come to terms with

The blockchain vision is to be the center of everything.
Instead of having a deed from the city or county,
Ownership would be tracked on blockchain. Because
Of course, it's so secure and reliable. Want to own gold?
You could own part of a gold bar along with others.
Take their word for it, it exists somewhere secure.
Right now it's just talk, but this is their vision.
You can trust them. Especially the wolf of Wallstreet.
He's so much more honest now everything is virtual.
I am way too old and cranky. I just can't share their
    vision of utopia.

I've found people will do pretty much anything in large groups.

I only use credit cards exclusively but I don't load them on my phone, save them to my browser etc.

This started many many decades ago when credit was issued, by banks, the land and money holders, instead of not buying something unless you had the cash to do so. It's called beholding to a creditor.
As long as I have a job, or income from whatever source, I can pay on what has been lended to me.

Works as long as the system doesn't collapse.

When internet things go wrong they do it in a big way. Banking is regulated. Crypto is not.
There is no vault with money. NFT ownership is not like owning real art.
Real money can become worthless, but virtual money can go poof instantly with
no warning. If the Binance exchange were to go under, so would crypto.

Can't say much about it here, but look who's involved politically on this. Just the beginning of something big? Leave it at that and do your own research.

IMO, the "coin shortage" that popped up during the ****demic over the last two years was a sort of dress rehearsal of life without hard currency. Casinos have been doing it for years with gaming machines, they were all retrofitted with printers that spit out barcoded tickets instead of coins.

As a hedge against all this, lately I have been collecting precious metals - brass, copper, and lead. ;)

So many people tossed money and praise at this crook.
I hope his whole family goes to jail.
