He had a couple of cousins that were big in the their own right:
Mickey Gilley and Jimmy (Lee) Swggart.
Jerry and Jimmy both got their middle name from some famous Southern military guy.
Same for Mickey Gilley except that his parents weren't real up on their military history so he got stuck with "Leroy".
Close but,well, at least they tried. 👍
