I first was drawn to the 12's for the bass but figured the 8's sounded better in the highs and I already had a good sub (SVS 16-46PCi) that outperformed the 12's on the bass department. Then found a great deal on 70's and although didn't like them as much as the 8's, it was too good of a deal. Then found the LSi7's for $199 a pair and got three pairs of them. What a great value! Everyone that has listened to them has said how great they sound, males and females, audiophiles and casual listeners. And my room isn't even very acoustic (quite horrible really, tile floors and echo, better now with some insulation and curtains).
My choice to go with Polk has been greatly affected by the money factor, I have been able to find great deals for them but that doesn't take anything away from how great/good they sound.
