Velodyne CHT-15 any opinions?

Have a chance to pick up a new Velodyne CHT-15 for $375 including shipping. Any opinions on this sub, especially for this price?
I had my eye on a PB2ISD from SVS, although more than I probably needed, the guys at SVS were very helpfull. But when the Velo deal came up, for $600 cheaper, not sure I could pass it up.
thoughts and opinions?

At that price, get it. Sound and Vision recently reviewed that model, along with about 9 others, and the CHT-15 came out on top. Here's what they said:
"How Low Does It Go?
Bass limit 25 Hz at 92 dB SPL
The Velodyne had 6 to 12 dB higher SPL at 25 Hz than any other sub tested. Translation: It kicks major butt.
How Big the Bang?
Average SPL from 25 to 62 Hz 107.3 dB
Maximum SPL 116 dB at 62 Hz
Dollars per dB $6.51
The CHT-15 can produce peak SPLs that beat subs costing three to four times as much.
The Bottom Line
The Velodyne CHT-15 delivered the biggest bang of the lot, hitting a tooth-rattling 116 dB max SPL. Its all-black styling can be considered either mysterious or menacing depending on your perspective."
For $375, you're getting one helluva deal for a kickass sub. Get it! -
I would have to agree with MSkeezer here. Biggest bang for the buck at the price you quoted for the Velo 15.

I have one. Really nice for the price I paid ($500 at CC). For that price I'd pull the trigga!

You should be asking yourself if you can live with the "sound" of the CHT-15 long term. Is this what you want for movies and/or music? Will you be upgrading later to what you should have initially purchased?
Since you mentioned SVS, did you consider the PB1-ISD or the 20-39 PCi? I listened to the CHT-15 and all other subs in this city. In the end I decided on SVS products. The only other sub I would consider to replace my SVS's would be Velodyne DD-12's. -
Great deal on Velodyne CHT-15, I'm using mine for about a year. CHT-15 goes really loud and low. It definitely goes below 20hz. BTW, I never measured it but somehow I now it and I can feel it. The bass output is very strong and clean, once I played ROTK and on one scene the bass was so loud that the shampoo bottle fell in the washroom! No kidding seriously my brother told me when he came out from the washroom. Wow! it really kicks major butt. Also remember to use high quality sub cable. I use Monster THX Ultra sub cable which made a lot of improvement compare to AR HT Pro cable which I was using before.
It also has a Current Sensing Servo technology which is a steal for the price you mentioned. Normally you get CSS technology in expensive subs. CSS tech keeps the driver in normal position which means minimizing the driver movement from distortions and preventing it form damage during heavy bass signals when more air is pushed.
