Anybody have any experience and/or opinions? Even used it's at the outer edges of my budget, but I'm intrigued.

I’m not positive, but I believe Dan was powering Revel floorstanders at Pacific Audio Fest with this. One of my favorite rooms.

Thanks for the input, guys. I had him mod my cambridge cxn and was really happy with the results. I'm thinking I do want to go the ss/tube amp combo long term, and having it all in one box would be nice. Not sure I've heard anything bad about any of his work. I'd have to sell a few pieces before making the move, but I'm thinking about it.Pro-ject 2 Experience SB, OPPO BDP-103, Marantz SR5011, Lounge LCR MKIII, McCormack DNA-HT5, Polk LSiM705, Polk LSiM706C, Polk LSiM702, SVS SB16-Ultra

I don’t have the 225 but I do have Dan’s SWL9.0 tube pre and KWA-150SE solid state amp and the combo is magical. His stuff is awesome, highly recommended2 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave

Pretty sure it'll trounce the PM-14S1 but you never know.

@dr1978 How's it sounding?
-
It's good! Is good, good enough? I'm not sure.
The Marantz gave me more of the low end I had been missing, but it came at a cost, having to run it pretty high and lose out on the midrange a bit.
The slp-98 (with mccormack amp) was a little weak down low, but had that awesome tubey magic. I could listen for hours and the excitement didn't wane.
The modwright doesn't really have any holes. It's got plenty of power, it's very quiet, and sounds pleasing. It's just... I don't really feel the tubes. At least I think that's what it is. There are times when i really think it sounds great, but I spend a higher percentage of my time just casually listening, rather that really enjoying it like I did with the Cary. I'm not giving up on it by any means, but I'm not sold yet either.

Interesting, is it fully broken in?
