I tested the upgrade listening to Dave Grusin's "Discovered Again" on Sheffield. SQ improvement well worth the effort!

I heard sounds and music details I did never heard before! "Plugging" in addition to "foaming" the frames are both worthwhile. For any music lover using RTi or RTi A series speakers, get in touch w/ the man - Xschop!

If you have crappy midrange, the loose (and brittle) dustcaps are the culprit. I pulled them off by fingernails too easily and the edges where crumbly. One was dry-rotted and partially detached from glue....

From which container did you use the cap to measure? Maybe a tsp? EVOO😂?

Related note: Sunfire recommends for their “True” sub signature models, once annually rub some mink oil on both the driver & passive radiator surrounds.

    No rush.
I much prefer “Quality over quickly.”

Sorry for forgetting to tell you: do NOT sweat the existing Armacell. Upon return I need to “foam” them before returning them to their closure.

1K thanks. Please PM return $hipping.

It brings a minty-fresh breath of suppleness. I tested a few solutions/concentrations and the isopropyl alchol dries up too quickly.

Looking forward to the center channel pics.

1K thanks Rob for your knowledge & expertise.

Update for the drivers* pictured in the Aug 17th post: completed driver side Foaming, Sep 8th afternoon. A couple of the “Joys” of home owership has sidelined returning the same* to their Center speaker closure😢.

Pics to follow on my CSi A6 mod thread.

No tweak last Saturday. My RTA (Behringer DEQ-2496) went belly up since the last time I used it😢

    RTiA 5.25" midranges in process...
These will also need 0.180" shorter base phase plugs. The 50% Alcohol with Wintergreen is perfect for soaking dust cap perimeters and restoring the butyl surrounds on these without worrying about damaging them....
