Raining off and on for days now. Tonight might even stop the fireworks show.

So, we're just watching TV and surfing the webs.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Everybody be safe and enjoy the day! It's going to storm here but we are hanging with friends by the pool and then on the River if the weather cooperates.

I'll bite....what'd you get? Mine's a SeaRay...175BR. It's a '97 but she still looks brand new. Bought it used from an F-15 pilot that was PCSing to your neck of the woods (VA). She was only 6 mo's old and had less than 20 hours on the motor. Damn nice guy...I was a young Airman and he gave it to me for low end of Bluebook. Asked him why he was selling it virtually brand new and he said not worth dragging cross-country when he could just buy another in VA when he got there.

Funny as I've drug it from ID to WA to TX to MD and back to WA. Not the biggest kid on the block but raised a family on it and will continue w/grandkids. Has a 4 banger and, although I don't get killer top end or torque, easily tube and water ski. Added bonus...much easier on the wallet these days.

This weekend...kind of a late start in the inland PNW as we've had rain/low temps this weekend, so not the best boating weather. Recent years I've made a point to steer clear of all the yahoos going out on the 4th...too hectic as a result of way more people relocating to this area and a perceived lack of experience on the water. Considering I'm retired, I can boat any other day of the summer. Will fire her up next week and start venturing out.

Lets see your new baby. Being a Navy man I expect a beauty of a vessel!!!! Congrats!

I’m very jealous. Wish I was back in the PNW! Great boating out there, and as far as I am concerned a boat is a boat. Whatever gets you out on the water!

I picked up a Yamaha 195 FSH sport. Nothing fancy, didn’t want to spend big big money but wanted something that was a good all arounder for inland/close to shore fishing and water sports at the same time. First outing was a blast, she scoots to 50 easily with the supercharged 1.8.

Added a picture of it in my driveway to show this is about as wide of a boat as I could fit. Backing this in on Saturday was the second time I had ever backed a trailer, first being in the parking lot at the dealer. Tight fit but not nearly as difficult as I was expecting

Very nice. Looks like you can fun, sun and fish. No joke on the driveway clearance!!!! Absolutely agree any boat is a good time. I grew up w/my dad and I fishing off a 10' Sears fiberglass boat w/a 20 (?) hp outboard. Best memories were trolling for trout at probably a walking clip. Any day on the water beats a day at work.

Mine is the first and only boat I've owned. I did it a$$ backwards and purchased it before I had a truck...lol. Picked up an old '84 Chevy 1/2 ton that was a former farm truck from the base lemon lot. Big rig for a newbie to boats and trailers. Truck is long gone but the boat is 25 years old and still going strong.

Never backed a trailer in my life...one of my first outings I got all jacked up trying to see the trailer on a steep ramp and properly line up to take the boat out of the water. I had a pretty good crowd watching the newbie. Two guys finally said hold up and picked up the back end of the trailer and straightened her up for me. To add insult to injury...was so embarrassed/frazzled I rushed getting the boat out of the water. Heard/felt a horrendous dragging sound. In my haste and inexperience I forgot to trailer the lower end. To make it even worse, instinct kicked in and I backed up for a foot or so to "correct my mistake". Ugh. Rough second outing. Only thing damaged was my pride.

Also, once....only once, started to launch without the plug in. Fortunately, realized it before I released the ratchet. A foot of water in the back end weighs a ton. I have a few more stories but that'd take some beer and a campfire.

I'll make you homesick. Taken a few years ago...my favorite lake, ever, Priest in Northern Idaho.

Your Yamaha is perfect for the water you have in your neck of the woods. Congrats and smooth sailing. She's a beauty. Thanks for sharing!
