Magnifi Mini, Tivo Edge, Vizio Smart Cast remote volume problems

Normally, I can control the volume on the Polk with the volume buttons on the Tivo remote. I have the TV internal speakers turned off using TV Vizio remote.
The Tivo remote volume controls now do nothing. Polk remote works with the Polk device.
To put it another way, would like for Tivo remote to control Polk output like it used to do. Polk connected to TV with optical cable.
Any ideas?? Thank you in advance.
