We are into old crap, 50's, 60's and 70's.. i was born in early 70's so i never experianced any of these era's as an adult.. however i love the look of streamlined appliances, from the 40's and 50's.. bright colors from the 60's and 70's... tweed chairs, turquoise colored items, orange and browns that were so popular in that time frame... I have a Admiral 1938-42? refrigerator (waiting for a paint job someday) working,(ask spasticpitbull lol) I just got a 1928 -1933 GE monitor top fridge, working... I rewired it, extensivly cleaned the inside and out, repainted the top, replaced the thermostat.. im searching for a compressor cover (looks only) and going to get new door gaskets (anyone know of sources for universal gaskets? not high dollar knock offs) it also works and the freezer hits 10-15 degree's... cold!!! Its alot of fun to clean em up.. get them working... I am in the never ending process of making my 2 channel room/florida room into a 70's room... i already painted the walls a rust color on one side and white on the other, got a few chairs and end tables... lamp, fiberglass shade for it.. lucite grapes night light... lucite grapes for the end table... and that type of stuff... been thinking of making a kegerator... My friend has one as i discovered 2 weeks ago.. however i dont drink enough to warrant it, but cool factor and friends over would make it reall cool... anyways.. Just thought id post some pictures, get some insight on 60-'s and 70's hippies of looks to go for, items you remember, My room and my rendition and how accurate it is... everything is authentic.. no repro's, no remakes,, all 70's items... I will post several pictures today of the items... fridges, my new finished 2 channel rig...
just shoot thoughts, idea's, memories.... Thought this would be cool, so lets keep this fun!!

however i dont drink enough to warrant it
I do!
My wife bought me a Danby kegerator about a year ago. We have a local brewery where I buy all my beer. Having fresh beer is just amazing, it's a whole different story than bottled stuff. The price is about the same as decent bottled beer, & you don't have all the bottles left over. Co2 is extremely cheap, I'm on my second bottle (at a whopping $8 per refill).
Things I've learned: watch your temperature, fresh beer should be treated like milk. Keep it around 36 degrees. Temperature also affects pressure, if I remember right 2 degrees equals 1 pound of pressure either way. It's nice to have control over this, as it seems most brew pubs pour it real close to flat. And since it's fresh stuff, make sure all lines are clean clean clean. I clean mine after every other keg, sometimes each one. It only takes about 15 minutes and makes a difference, seems to add bitterness as it gets older.
Also make sure you have enough beer line between the keg and the faucet, otherwise it pours way too fast and you just get foam. I have about 20" of actual distance, but use 14' of line to get the right pour.
It's a great motivator at work... not matter how bad a day you have, there's a cold pint glass with fresh beer waiting for you. -

We had a 1950s Kelvinator fridge for awhile. Still had all the original glass shelves. We bought it because we thought we were going to redo our basement as a 1950s diner - that never did happen. My wife got the fridge at a garage sale for $40 from the old couple who had bought it new! No photos... but it worked perfectly. We gave it to a church as a second fridge when we got in a "we have GOT to get rid of some of this crap!" phase.

Looks great but where's the shag, man? There are two ways to argue with women. Both of them are wrong.

All that old vintage stuff and you have LSi's instead of SDA's???
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
I know i know
I had a vintage rig, and just wasnt feeling it... older advents, kenwood and sansui, I like the newer gear... Electronics is one thing i like up to date.. dunno why... but computers, stereo, Ht and speakers all gotta be within 10 years anyways.. im a geek at heart and like gadgets and electronics... Vintage is cool with furniture and appliances though IMO,MY HT RIG:
