Woman cleans up by having sex in a car.

“A Missouri woman was awarded $5.2 million in a settlement from insurance company GEICO after contracting a sexually transmitted disease from her partner in his vehicle, which was insured by the company, court documents show. The Missouri Court of Appeals upheld that award this week.”

I read this article a few days ago. I am missing the mental gymnastics being used here. I could be missing something though

Pretty sad when she gets paid over 5 million for this, when people are killed in car accidents and loved ones don't get even close to that.

GEICO has been our insurer for a few years, and I can't complain. They paid out two claims in a little over a year totaling about $15000, also paid for the full 30 days of a rental car on the last one (because of supply issues getting parts last summer). They also insure my home through Narragansett Bay and paid
a good chunk of change 3 years ago when we had mold damage from a leaky shower head. Maybe we are the exception to the rule?
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Another divisive, outlier story that the media loves to over-cover to get eyeballs on their content and advertisements....in my humble opinion.

Having spent a stint in the Navy and as such am a qualified sea lawyer I can state authoritatively and conclusively that the legal team representing GEICO should be taken out and...(can't say 'shot')
    ....pummeled with marshmallows.
ALL insurance companies can twist and bend the written language in their policies that they can make you responsible for the Jimmy Hoffa disappearance if they wish.

    STD?
Injuries caused by not wearing a seatbelt
    should be exempt from coverage.
I doubt anyone had their seatbelt on during the
    "incident". :p
