Just watched The Patriot again for the first time since the theater. Wow! This film has some kickass sound. Even though there is no DTS track, it's still great. The gunshots and cannon fire really envelops you, and they carry quite a force. It's really a good movie too. Much better than the usual Emmerich/Devlin collaboration movies like Independence Day, Stargate and the new Day After Tomorrow.

The Patriot is one of my favorite films, although I admit didn't like it as much when I first saw it at the theater - just needed to sink in, I guess. I have the Superbit version - awesome.
