And the Good News is thread

Some stuff really sucks spring water right now. Gas when my Tundra gets 12 mpg. My stock portfolio is getting hammered.

This thread is dedicated to positive vibes and good things going on in your life.

For me I just had cervical fusion six weeks ago and I get to go back to work Monday the 13th.
My job requires driving and heavy lifting so I had to wait longer than if I had an office job. I do fountain installation for the Soda company. I will be on light duty for six months. No heavy lifting over 50 pounds. Normally that would stop me from going back to work but I think with good help hard to find . Plus I have the skilz to pay the bills. They are making an exception for me and I will do all service calls. At least that’s how it is playing out in my head? Bone and cartilage have to grow around the six titanium screws and plates before it is totally healed so I have made a decision to not ride my Goldwings for at least six months, probably next spring or maybe never again? My daughter graduated HS with a gpa of 4.0 at the best rated HS in Minnesota for the last five years. Math and Science academy. My son is doing great at UWStout. Daughter is going to Harding in Arkansas. I am truly blessed and thankful for these things. And this forum.

Share your good news here. We all need it about now.
Love yours. D

Great idea for a thread and I'm glad to hear the good news about your recovery from surgery......In my case I have several things to be thankful for to. First and formost is I'm glad I live in the western hemisphere of our planet. No matter how bad things get here I couldn't imagine going through what's going on over there right now.

Today also happened to be an especially good day for me. I got the phone call from the place I was hoping to get a new job from and yes they've hired me. This will be the first time in 38 years that I haven't been involved in the paving business and the best part is the place is only about a mile away. No more hour long commutes. 2nd good thing today was a trip to eye doctor to set up my cataract surgery for the beginning of August. I am soooo looking forward to having 20/20 vision once again.

Knock on wood; all my family is healthy, bills are all paid, there's an abundance of good food to eat and I'm chomping at the bit to start a new job at 66. Yes my 401k is in the toilet like everyone else's but I still can't help but feel blessed.

As one who has had 3 neck surgeries I will caution you as far as lifting. It is very easy to overdo it when you start feeling better. I speak from experience as after my last neck surgery I was feeling better than I had in years and overdid it one day and my neck has never been the same since. It has never felt as it did before I overdid so be careful. It was over 6 months when I did this so please learn from my mistake.

I have also had 5 back surgeries regarding fusion on my lower and mid back so I have a lot of experience with this. Your fusion won't be completely healed for much longer than 6 months.

BTW congrats on your daughter and son.

We got a lot of dearly needed rain again last night. :p

That makes about 6" in 7 days. It's been brutally hot and breezy, drying out the grass and top-soil bigtime.

3" last fri. I think it was and 3" last night. My yard is finally resembling what it looked like last year with almost perfect weekly rains.

My oldest finally got his rear in gear and lined up his eagle scout project! If Murphy doesn't interfere, he'll be done by the end of July and will earn his Eagle before he ages out at the end of October. So proud of him!
