Speaker selection appropriate?

Hi all,
I (very) recently entered the home theater scene and after reading some posts about speaker size compatibility issues, I wondered if my setup was about right.
The room is 13x20 with the entertainment unit centered on a long wall and the rear speakers facing toward the entertainment unit instead of the preferred inward facing placement behind the listener (mounting concerns).
I have a pair of RT800i's on the front sides and a CS245i in the middle. For the rear surrounds I have a pair of RT15i's and a PSW250 subwoofer providing the boom function. It sounds pretty good to me, though I haven't been able to really wring it out and see what it will do. Scouring some of the posts seem to convey that I should be running RT25i/35i's on the back side and a PSW350/450 for the bottom end. Do you think that the RT15i's and PSW250 are sufficient?
Thanks,
Mike

Most will agree, the only ears that matter are yours. Numbers are just that.
Your room is fairly good sized, I think that a single 250 sub will provide ok sound for music.
For a room that size, if you want to run a single sub, I would suggest a 450, or if you're a bass maniac (guilty here) possibly the 650.
I'm running dual 450 subs.
A cs400 is the exact match (driver/tweeter) to your 800's, but if the cs245 sounds good to you,
leave it.
rt15i's will provide decent suround sound.
The fx300's or 500's will give you a more diffused
sound field.
If Home Theater is your main focus, and you like sci-fi or action movies,
First: I would beef up the bass with a larger sub.
Second: I would look for a cs400, (very discounted at this time) to match the 800's.

i agree, if you are looking to upgrade, sub first, then center, then rears. i have the cs400 with the 800's and it sounds great!!! if everything sounds fine to you, then your system is right were it should be and you don't need to upgrade. if you find yourself wanting more, go for it!
welcome to the forum...:D -
Brandnamez.com has the cs400i for about 269 b4 shipping ..... not a bad buy to match your 800i's

Thank you for all the input -- I see myself shopping in the near future!

Hi all,
I checked up on the CS400 per the suggestion of the crowd... unfortunately there's only seven inches available on top of the TV and the 400 is better than eight inches tall... grrrrrrrr
So, I'll keep the CS245i and upgrade the sub to 450 and the surrounds to f/x300i's since I need the increased sound field. (the rears sounded thin from the beginning)
Thanks!
Mike

hey, no problem petrym, that cs400i is a beast, they actually slimmed down the new redesigned csi40 - the replacement for the cs400i. i think you'll be very happy with your psw400 and f/x300i upgrades. enjoy when you get them...

The size of your center channel speaker does make a difference. but having the space for a big phat CS400i is tough to find.
The CS400i mated well with the RT800i's and the FX/300i in my system.
good luckPolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Hi everyone,
I just received and installed the new PSW450 and FX300i's. I ran some DVDs through the mix and the system sounds much better with increased clarity, imaging, and volume. The difference is quite obvious and I'm very happy.
Thank you all for your input and expertise!

I ordered the speakers through Brandnamez.com -- very poor communication and response -- beware. -
