My new technics receiver has a sub-out but the PSW 250 as
left and right line level inputs. Should I get a Y adaptor to hook up to the sub or can I just hook to the left input? I seem to get good sound by only hooking to the left input of sub. Leave any info on this if you have it! I'd really liked to hear about it as i'm new to owning a powered sub.

Look at the back of your sub. To the right of the right and left line level inputs, you should have an input marked LFE. Run a subwoofer cable from your sub-out on your reciever, and plug it into the LFE input. That should do it for you!

No the 250 doesn't have an LFE. I did hookup my sub with monster sub cable and their directions recomended i just hook to the left input. I guess my question is would i have better sound from the sub if i was hook to both left and right inputs.

Sorry,,,,my goof! I was thinking of the 350. Why not go with using the speaker level inputs/outputs? Did you get a manual with your sub? Shows you how to do it. If you don't have one, you should be able to download a copy at the Polk Audio home page. Sorry I gave you the wrong info,,had my 350 on the brain:D

The info you should need is on page 7. I'm honestly not sure about using Y-adapters and such, and the manual is not really clear about units without an LFE input. You should be safe using the method mentioned.

Hey Firerider, I know I have a post out there on this sub, but at the store they did have Y-adapter hooked into the connectors. Just though you would like to know. Try it both ways.

Curious as to how this works,,,so what is done then is to run a single cable from the sub-out and then Y-off into the right and left line level inputs?? I have to admit,,,this manual is'nt clear at all on the best way to hook up the lower powered subs.

I hooked up my sub first with the just the left and then tried a y adaptor and nothing changed at all.
Shhhh.... Don't let My wife know. She thinks that I am buying flowers.

Yeah i'm going to just use the left input only as i'm happy with the sound. My reciever only sending a mono signal to the sub anyway so it shouldn't make a difference! Hey thanks guys for the info.
