I am setting up my dream home theatre setup. I have really worked hard on this.
I have purchased Denon X2700H, Polk RC85i front speakers, RC55i surround, R60i Atoms ,Sub HT-10. Room size 12 x 10, need advice and guidance on setup, settings and placement of them.

So basically you want the three mains (clr) to be as close to ear height as possible, and the center other directly above or below the screen. I would suggest using a crossover of 80hz, but run the audyssey and see what it recommends. For the atmos and surrounds I would consult the manual.
Let us know how it sounds when it’s all set up: sounds pretty sweet!Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
Game Room 5.1.4: Denon AVR-X4200w; Sony UBP-x700; Definitive Technology Power Monitor 900 mains, CLR-3000 center, StudioMonitor 350 surrounds, ProMonitor 800 atmos x4; Sub - Monoprice Monolith 15in THX Ultra

Thank you, I got a rough idea where all the speakers.Placing the surround is the challenge now as its a in wall, I will be able to keep it as rear surround only. Any suggestions??

Congratulations on the robust home theater setup. I would start with

You have a bit of flexibility on the placement of the sides and rears.
Note that 7.1 is different than 5.1.2. The third number refers to height or atmos speakers. The Dolby site shows many example placements. -
Thank you, that was a useful info. I am planning to setup 5.1.2.. and I dont have walls to support surround.. hence going for rear surround

Set up is key parallel to room acoustics. Watch this first…

EP 2 (or later) should get you other helpful episodes. He keeps it simple yet comprehensive. I think you should strive more for side surrounds than rears just as he illustrates.

Side surrounds are the best. In my case i use RC55i In wall speakers for surround and I dont have a proper wall on the sides(one side is a huge french window)
