I don’t know the details here, but it sounds like we won’t be seeing any more VPI made Levinson tables.

    Levinson shows two turntables under their branding:

    One is definitely a VPI design that's been out for several years. I don't know about the other but it doesn't look like a VPI as much as the other one. Maybe Harman/Levinson decided to go a different direction and cut ties for some reason.

    Maybe the payback is no replacement parts in future.

    As a company, maybe. But HARMAN has been slowly killing off a bunch of the pro and luxury brands long before Samsung came into the fold. They want to crank out 5M+ BT speakers and cheap headphones more than they want to produce hifi gear. They do make nice BT based stuff, but it’s no hifi.

    If a product or brand doesn’t carry at a majority of revenue for a brand, or offer immediately synergy with Samsung products, it’s good as dead for future development in my opinion.

    All of high-end audio, owned by giant conglomerates will be suffering the same fate IMHO...
