Completeing my setup: Which Sub? PSW350 or PSW450?

Well I guess I lied because I can never really have a complete set-up but at least this will be a complete 5.1. Brandnamez.com has the 350 for $235 and the 450 for $300. I just listened the 450 and it is a very powerful sub. My room is mid-sized (12*20*8) so I am thinking for the money the 350 is better for my room. Is there any pro or cons to either sub? Thanks.

BTW the rest of my setup is:

RT1000i (L/R)
CS245i (CC)
f/x300i (RL,RR)
Sub: Harmon Kardon HK-595 (computer sub)
A/V Receiver: RX-V800

I don't currently have a Polk powered sub. I do have a room that is simmilar size and might be able to help. Let me discribe my room it is a 20'x14'x8' with 10'x12' bump out at the front, dinning room, carpeted concert slab floor and insalated stud walls hollow ceiling in between floors. I have a 15" 150 watt Cerwin Vaga LS/15 that is way to much power for my tastes. I almost never have it on and will most likely be replaceing it with a smaller 12" or 10" a long way in the future ,the wife. I do have new home.
Shhhh.... Don't let My wife know. She thinks that I am buying flowers.

i would vote for the psw450, don't own a polk sub, but i think this will blend well with you 1000's and if it is too overwhelming in bass, you could tone it down a little. better to be a little overdone and tone it down rather than too little and you can't get the results you want....

    just my .02.

I have the 350 hooked up to a 494 Onkyo with a pair of 800I's, the 245 center, and(temporarily)some really bogus KLH surrounds. Our rooms are about the same size. I like the 350, and it has all the power and sound I need. I've found that a lot of times I have to tone it down a bit cause it will really rattle the walls. On the other hand, for the price you would be getting the 450 for, I'd be hard pressed to pass on it. And like juice said, it probably would be a better match for your 1000's. How are you liking your 300I's?? That's my next investment Good Luck!

Get the 450, for only $65 more dollars you can go wrong. I have the 450 and I'm glad I purchased it over the 350!

I also agree get the 450, strong bass is so important in a home theater. Bigger bass is always better. You always have control over the volume anyway. But a little more power there when you want it.;)

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

Firerider58: The f/x300i's are incredible. I had some old Optimus Pro LX5 from Rat Shack and these completely blow them out of the water.

I will take all you considerations. I have heard of a standby hum from the 350, do anyone of you guys have that? That would really make me sway towards the 450. Also in pro-logic and stereo sources, do either of the subs kick in and out (because of the auto switch) ? I hope not. Thanks again.

Yep, there is a small hum in the 350 in standby mode. Not nothing terrible, but it's there. I've got away from using the auto switch, so I can't tell you about it kicking in or out. I'll give it a try tommorow and see. Thank's for the info on the 300I's. I'm hoping there'll be a price drop in them soon, and I can pick up a pair.

In home theater, too much bass is like
too much beer in your glass, seldom happens.
    I'm running dual 450 subs in a 12x16 room,
and when cannons fire, I duck.
And yes, I've heard there is a volume control,
never touch the stuff. In home theater that is.
    In music....that's different.

The 450 has a switch that you can turn on or off!
