How much would you pay for an SACD?
I know this is way above my scale. As soon as you open it to give it a spin your dollars evaporate, SO it seems (pun intended)

If I ever heard the song "Sledgehammer" one more time, I would set my entire stereo on fire, so it would end up costing me more than 350+ bucks.

$2- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

If it's something I really want a $100 is not out of the question, $350?? just not happening..

Prices are out of control. I attend an online auction every couple of weeks and the prices can get crazy. I have to control myself and not get caught up in the moment. I don't buy a lot but I strike when its something I have had trouble finding or I think its a value buy because others are not bidding.2 Channel Rosso Fiorentino Volterra II, 2 REL Carbon Limited, Norma Revo IPA-140B, Lumin U2 Mini, VPI Prime w/SoundSmith Zephyr MIMC, Modwright PH 150, Denon DP-59l w/Denon DL-301MKII, WAY Silver 3 Ana+ Speaker Cables, WAY Silver 4+ Interconnect Cables, AudioQuest Niagara 7000 w/Dragon and Hurricane Power Cables

I don’t tend to prefer modern remasters. Usually they seem compressed; louder, but less dynamics.
Wouldn't want a compressed-sounding SACD.

Acoustic Sounds has a used So SACD for $100 with some scratches on the case.
I think I have Peter Gabriel's first five albums on SACD. Maybe paid less than $20 a piece when they came out. They're good but not $300 good, especially when most of them are available as high res downloads that can be run through a DSD DAC. -

Peter Gabriel's stuff like Elton John is very well recorded. I've not come across any compression issues with either. Unlike Elton Johns that most times can be had for less than $50 Peter's have just sky rocketed like no other. -
To remain sealed collectible is one thing, but for a playable disc or album, $75 is my limit and better be good.2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

I like Peter Gabriel, but wow. You gotta be a real fan.
I have a few records in my Discogs watchlist that are up there, but none of them are hitting prices I want to fork over for.
There is one record I have that I picked up a few years ago that has a distortion in one track. The seller offered half refund, so I kept it since it's rare, but it annoys me so much I don't even listen to it, so that was a waste. I'd pay to replace it with a pristine copy if one ever comes up, but not sure I'd go $350 on it. I can just switch to digital real quick when that track comes up on the record, keep the record spinning and pretend, then switch backI disabled signatures. -

That’s fair. I did experience that with the Depeche Mode Violator remaster that had the CD/DVD; I was shocked as Violator was such a great production on the original.
Unfortunately, a lot of remasters seem like a money-grab to me, and don’t necessarily sound better.
Glad to hear that isn’t the case with Peter Gabriel. But his originals sound satisfying enough for me.CD Players: Sony CDP-211; Sony DVP-S9000ES; Sony UDP-X800M2 (x2); Cambridge Audio CXC
