Is it just me or... About the SDA-CRS+

Is it just me or have others experienced the SDA-CRS+ getting grumpy about loud volume levels. I have heard a MW bottom out / a snapping type sound, loud too, several times when I have the volume cranked up.

Well considering you only have ONE stereo driver how hard do you want to push that sucker? What is Xmas on those something like 4-5mm?
-
Well I guess I should take that into consideration. Thank you.

Make sure your sub bass drive inductor connections are good.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

@xschop What's up hossfly. Ain't heard from you in a spell. I will check that. I think you already know why I am fooling with them. Gotta get them ready for the next mod. The Black Dragon's maybe but the phase plugs for sure. I did build a isolation transformer "Dreadnought" for them. Wonder if I could use the ERSE Super Q's in them instead. I have a set in the shop.

You either have an air leak or more likely a damaged spider.Political Correctness'.........defined

Yeah, definitely find out what's happening to the woofer(s). I had one separate from the spider near the cone. Long tip Superglue Gel fixed it.
Maybe turn down the Krell some?
There's another set of phase-plugged CRS+ TL's in the works.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
So what about the steel laminate inductors after I fix the MW problem or would that be a bad idea. Bought the ones recommend here but for my 2b's. Cannot recall the mH .
-
As long as they are 16mH. I was about to buy a pair until I found another set of factory wound inductors off the bay a few months ago.
If they are the 17mH inductor ERSE, you can un-wind them using an inductance meter.
WMG may expound on the process.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists. -
I will look. I have a piece of an LCR meter.

I used Erse laminated inductors in my rebuild. A member here was very gracious enough to unwind them. Good thing as one was WAY above the stated value and the other was under by a little. They both came back to me with the exact value as close as possible to value needed. Had I chose to not have that done my 2.3tls would have had vastly different sounds between the two.
Parts Express did stock the C-coil @VR3 uses. -

I think It is less than that, more like 3.0 mm or so, but what you said, totally agree! -
I have seen where glue attaching the spider to the basket fails. It can be re glued.Stan

I used Eileens to re-glue a spider to a cone with success. I'm tired and can't remember the brand. I just remembered... Paradigm. I think it was a 2-woofer bookshelf from the old days when they had clear woofers. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
