Upgrade suggestions for NAD 7600 + LSIM 705

I’m toying with replacing my 7600 but want to keep it under $1000. My current thought is a Yamaha A-s801 but am wondering if that will be an upgrade? I’m also considering a 2600a amp and running in bridged mode. Any thoughts about either setup or good alternatives? Thanks!
