Here's my daughter Stephanie (on the left) with her oldest and best bud, Amber Jeffries. This image was shot this evening after the girls got gussied up for the 8th grade dinner dance. Amber lives 4 houses up, and she and Stephie have been best pals since 2 yrs old.

George, having had the pleasure of meeting your daughter I can say you've done a fine job bringing her up.

Thank you gentlemen. Sid, forget it, it's not happening in this life.

Leonard Jeffries up the block is in a bad spot. I have Tiff and Stephie. He has Amber, Chelsea, and Maya. All dolls. Amber is going places. Gorgeous girl, straight A's, real athletic, and a sweet disposition.

Poor Dad. You must not sleep much when she is out on dates. If God didn't have such a great sense of humor, daughters like yours would be born with NFL linebackers for brothers.

They're both adorable George. But what's even more fun is listening to dads talking about their little girls! LOL dating might not be in her immediate future, but within the next year or two it probably will be! Try not to have a stroke George.:D

Congrats George, daughters are a special thing. Mine is 1 1/2 years old now, and I'm already fearing the 14 1/2 time. I see a lot of this in my future:

/Me cleaning the short barrel Mossberg 12 gauge on the dinner table/

"So, how do you like my little pea shooter here? Remember, this is her only date until she's 24 1/2"...

LOL No Henry I wouldn't. However, you all are simply like every other Dad all over the world with their little girls. I should know, since I was one once.

It's an aggravating, confusing & a very warm special feelings we feel during that time of Dad's over protective instincts operating at maximum strengh.

But when Dad's gone and we look back at that time, we realize that there is nothing quite so special as being the center of Dad's universe! There's nothing lunatic about that, it's just being a good Dad!

Natalia is "just that" for me.

Sherry and I have spoke of this very same thing and how it would appear that I'm not bonding with my boy. Trust me when I say my love for my children is equal and her worries should not be worries.

That said, Tino will get his fair share whether he likes it or not ;) but he is very mommy centric right now.

Its tough being a parent. I finally feal bad for mine...

Trust me Henry, It will work out, it will just keep switching back & forth for a few yrs on both parents & childrens sides. So long as you & Sherry keep thing even, it will be fine.

However your daughter will be Daddy's little girl forever! That's just seems to be how it works out. And all things being equal, your son will learn from you, and be just as protective of his sister & daughters!

Makes a girl/woman feel very good!:)

Hey, whomever comes to take George's daughter out on a date and upsets her or George has to deal with me! Failing that, they have to deal with my girlfriend and that would be a bad thing for the offending party.

HBT - A man once said this about becoming a parent, "When we had our son, I learned what it was to become a father. When we had our daughter, I learned what it meant to become a Daddy."

My suggestion to you is to become sincerely interested in something your son likes to do. Adopt it as something you like to do. If he lets you in, expand upon it. Perhaps a weekend or a vacation based on that interest.

Find a common ground, and really listen to him.

    Spydie......CAGE! Good boy.

    Org,

Both daughters have their own rigs. Stephie has a pair of The "New" Advent Loudspeaker from 1979 or so in her room, being driven by a brand-new Onkyo TX-SR 700 HT receiver. 10" acoustic suspension two-way. She has a JVC hi-fi vcr and a Apex dvd machine also. One of these days if SHE wants, I'll run some surround speakers in there for her. I have small Advent's from back then, AR's, KLH's, EPI's and some Allison's too. Won't be hard at all to match up.

Tiffany has my original KLH 6's in her room, driven by a succession of different amps. Today it's a large ****, vintage Technics 85wpc receiver (SA-5570).

When Stephie was about 5, she had a rig that was mostly NAD in her room, which included the 3020 integrated amp, and a 2150 power amp (the 25wpc or so in the integrated wasn't enough for her needs so we went to the separate power amp).

Steph is one of the nicest young ladies that you could ever meet, in fact, the Grand family is one of the nicest that you could ever meet. The fact that both Steph and Tiff have rigs to die for is just icing on the cake.

Oh...and Sid, be careful. George has a baseball bat within reach at all times and from the looks of it, he knows how to use it.

You're more than welcome Henry anytime!:)

BTW when I said to give equal treatment, that means that Natalia gets equal time in the Bomb Shelter! That way when she grows up to marry some audio obsessed maniac, she will understand the obsession and be a bit more tolerant of it!

And hubby won't be in here whining about how his beloved just doesn't understand, and she gets confused about what button to push, ect. ect. ;):D

I have no Italian in me. I am equal parts Greek, tobacco, rum, salt, and wise potato chips.

My wife, the former Theresa Talamonti, we think has some EYEtalian in her (we already know she's had some Greek in her, ARF!), however she was adopted so we can't be sure. Also lends credence to my belief that she might have some wolverine in her too.
