Welborne labs 5v power supply with 5v cable. $60 shipped. PP F&F or buyer add/pay percentage. I think I have Venmo too. This was powering a Squeezebox Touch. Nice shape, works. One could change the connector to power some other 5v device if it met requirements.

I tried to locate the exact output specs. IIRC it was 5v 3 amps? This was a kit I assembled.

Agreed. I had one of these with my SB Touch and it was a really nice improvement.

This one will run my Rapsberry Pi 3B+ that has the official Pi Touchscreen + HiFiberry DAC 2 Pro DAC and a custom IR sensor + remote control.

Nice grab Dan. This should run the Pi just fine. I am keeping mine to use with a Pi Raspberry I will be building soon.

For those that have used these (or others) in the SBT, do you still get an improvement if you are already using an external DAC which is powered by a low noise power supply of its own (not from the SBT USB out)?

I think reducing noise at every stage is worth the effort. And, for a hundred bucks or so for a Teradak, seems like a no brainer.

Thanks to both of you. I already established that the SBT now draws less than 1 amp with the external DAC being powered elsewhere. I'll try another iPower for $50.

If my memory serves me, using a scope, the OEM wall wart DC output showed a great deal of ripple when under load. The Welborne was rock steady.

Yes, and it's not subtle. I've always used an external dac with the Touch and the linear supply is so much better than cheap switching supply it's supplied with.

Just one of several posts from back in the day
