Sync S2 soundbar to S3 subwoofer

Would it be possible to connect a S2 soundbar to a S3 sub? I have the soundbar, but the sub died out of warranty and my friend has an available S3 sub.

Sound bar bass goes from fast green light to another green stage,,,,was sent in about 1.7 years ago ,,,now different problem,,no bass, very DISGUSTED.
