New Nobsound tube preamp in the house.

Supposedly this preamp is based on the vintage Marantz M7 design. I can't wait to fire it up later today! Does anyone have any experience with this unit or the manufacturer? I know they make some low cost stuff. Some good, some not so good. Hope this one is the former.

Interested to hear what you think about it. I've almost ordered one a few times now.

Reading up a little, most suggest a change of tubes is pretty much necessary, and a different power cord. Might want to scout some up so you have some on hand. Other than that, it gets some good reviews after those changes.

I do plan to roll in some different tubes after the supplied ones burn in a bit.

When I first fired her up last night the sound was disappointing. Muffled, no airyness, weak bass, no soundstage. So I kept the preamp on all night with no music playing. Then today I put music at a low volume through it all day and when I sat down to listen for a minute I was shocked that it sounded much better. So, for now, I'm gonna give it some time. I'm leaving it on all weekend playing music so we'll see.
