Hello, I recently got a pair of 5JR's and am saddened that one tweeter does not work...replacements seem to be difficult to obtain. This model has the SL-2500 and I've isolated it to the tweeter itself by swapping them and then measuring the ohms. One works, and the other doesn't. I wouldn't entirely mind upgrading to a pair of RD0198's but it would cost almost the value of the speakers to buy them new on eBay :/ Alternatively, a single working SL-2500 would get me up and running.

If I do upgrade them both, I could potentially trade the SL-2500 in return for partial value (if for whatever reason somebody with a pair of RD0198's wants it...you never know). Any leads would be greatly appreciated, as I don't have a ton of money to pour into these speakers. Thanks so much.

Call Polk customer service. ask for a pair of RD-0198 mention you are a Club Polk member. You'll get a small discount, other than that you have Midwest Speaker at the current going rate or eBay for a used SL2500. Regardless the RD-198 is much superior to the SL2500/3000 tweeters.

If Polk CS does not have them check Midwest Speaker Repair https://www.midwestspeakerrepair.com/product-category/home-audio/tweeters/polk-audio-1-tweeters/

    Then there is ebay.
