Decided to pull the trigger on the 9.0x while I was chatting with Dan Wright last month about my KWA-150Se repair. Definitely an endgame phono, at some point I will upgrading the TT to a VPI to give justice title the 9.0.
No listening impressions yet. Still awaiting the 150SE to be repaired and sent back. What I can say is the build quality is impressive. This is 30 pounds of phono pre lol! I don’t like that I had to stack my 851N on the power conditioner to make this work in the rack but I think I can get over it

Congrats on the new piece and thanks for the guts shot. Hope you get your MW amp back soon.

I've had the 9.0 for close to two years, its an endgame piece for me. A true tube circuit and not just a tube buffer design. Clean, clear and QUIET after she runs in, roll some nice 6922's, 6DJ8's, or some 7308's.
I've been using some Mullard made for RCA ECC189's that are reasonably priced and a great tube. Along with some National 7DJ8's that are also a good tube.

The amp is back with Modwright so hoping to hear something soon
Mike, appreciate the feedback on tube selection. I’ve taken note and will pick up some at some point, I need to try some different tubes in my SWL 9.0 as well.
Your various comments on the 9.0 over the years made me take note of the 9.0, I haven’t heard really a single negative thing about the 9.0 from anyone2 Channel in my home attic/bar/man cave
