    You answered my question before I even asked it. Thanks.
    I was debating whether to poly or oil my cabinets after I sand off the oxidation and old flaking finish on my existing SDA's.
    I think I'll go with an oil finish, maybe like teak or Danish oil.

    I do like the way mine turned out with just a "fake" tung oil (minwax tung oil finish). I know that it doesn't offer the most protection but I don't plan on setting anything on top of them or moving them around from place to place. Plus, if I want, I can add poly latter on.
    Post some before and afters when you are done.
