Perpetuum Ebner PE3048

I'm not sure I want to start **** around with TT stuff but what does the collective think about the above TT? It has a wood "base/holder" and a Stanton IX cartridge with stylus. The person is asking $200...

It's a mid-late 70's German made idler drive. That TT is basically akin to a Dual 1228.
All the functions are mechanical in nature & could very well be gummed up or dry, unless it was maintained over the years.
The cartridge doesn't come up when searched I for replacement stylii at the usual suspects, but some comments I've seen say it's a Stanton 500E or EE that was OEM for several manufacturers or vendors.

It could very well be an ongoing project for you. Ask me how I know.
I've a Dual 1237 that is mine nemesis, but when it decides to work properly it sounds lovely.

IMO, if you are looking for plug&play, this isn't it. But it is a cool device.
If it were near me, I would buy it but I enjoy mucking about with stuff like that. Assuming it were functional.

I'm sure Doc Hardy will be along in a bit with way more info too.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll pass for now.
