Wife and i upgraded to S20 phones(i did not want one but...) so have some older ones that either need homes or be smashed up. Have read pro's and con's about wiping clean the memory etc...some folks say that this works well and some folks say don't do it, just trash 'em....

    Just as a thought, LG is getting out of the cellphone business soon. They won"t be providing any upgrades to the operating system (stuck at Lollipop ?) , etc.
    Best thing might be to do a You-Know-Who on them and smash them. 🔨💥

    Are you interested in selling any of them?

    I use old android devices as remote for my Squeezebox stuff, and piddle around lounge devices, or streamers for headphones and such. If you're talking about Galaxy S5s and S8 I'd be interested in those. I know another member here who might be as well.

    Data can be recovered, but someone's really gotta want it. There might be some app out there that overwrites a much as possible to help make recovery more difficult. You're probably fine donating after a full wipe, though.

    The S5's would be cool but the S8 will be my wife's backup....pm me and we can discuss stuff...will do the full wipe tomorrow on the 5s

    I use an S6 and a S8 with a Audioquest Dragonfly to stream Tidal using headphones, no reason to part with the ones you have as spares.
