Well, that was a fun weekend project. The base on the right speaker was clearly taken off at one point and when it was reattached they used some sort of heavy duty epoxy. I managed to get it off, but took a bit more of the cabinet off than I was hoping...exactly what I was trying to avoid when I got extra photos from the previous owner. Anyway, long story short, after cleaning them from excess adhesive, getting rid of any loose particles, some wood filler and some light sanding and I'm happy with the results. Feet are supposed to come in today, then I'll move them to their new home.p0bsvjleciiy.jpg

  • Epoxy! Now that's what you call a worst case scenario. Nice work!

Well, here we go, they cleaned up nice! I'll play around with them in different rooms...I'm aware the placement to the column on the left isn't ideal. I could hear a significant difference. The soundstage on the left side seemed to wrap around me really far to my left even a little behind me, on the right it only seemed to extend a few feet.

It was pretty funny, I made my daughters sit and listen and they kept looking around for other speakers, one didn't believe me initially when I told her it was from just the two speakers...she thought I was playing a prank...which to be fair is something I would do

Looks good. The speakers and cabinet finish are a good match.

Thanks all! The living room has been a project, I laid the hardwood floors back in September. Really happy with how the room has come together. I might leave the speakers here even though it's not the best place for them acoustically just because of how they look. I'll try them in the basement with my setup down there before I make a decision...maybe I'll just have to buy a second set  My wife would love that!

Nice! Don't know about your 2s, but the 2Bs really shine with more current(if that's an avr you have there).
Yep, my name really is Bob.

That's the eventual plan. Looking for a good integrated amp, might consider separates, just depends on what is available.
