Should a get a preamp or power amp?

I don't even know the difference between the two.

My setup:

Denon avr-x3500h
Polk Es60s front
Polk es30 center
Polk es20 rear
Polk HTS 12

Should I get a two-channel power amp/pre amp for music? Or should I get more channels to power the whole system?

    In addition to what was posted above I will ask what your budget is. You have a pretty balanced set up now that should sound pretty good for HT and music. You certainly can improve things for either music or HT, but it will take significant $$.

    As said above, that system is already pretty well matched. If you're looking for more, I'd opt for a 2 channel power amp to drive the 60's.
