Fosgate Model 3A...anyone know anything about this pre amp?

Hey again. I found out that the NAD 117 on Ebay doesn't come with a remote, so I told the guy "no thank you", and I still haven't heard from the guy with the Rotel. I'm going to assume he doesn't have a remote with, either.
So, I was looking through Audiogon today, and I found a Fosgate Model 3A pre amp that had THX certification, had Pro Logic decoding, and it's only $195. The seller says it's in excellend condition, and is fully functional. I saw that the list price is $2,800. Plus, here's the good news: it comes with a remote
Should I jump on this?

I also found that the seller is selling the Model 4 for only $95, with remote. Will any of these do a decent job with the Carver AV505 and the LSi7's? Thanks.
