Hey Blue, not much modding lately as the plandemic had our CNC lathe down for months because a VFD took a dump. But I'm back on the grind....

I've plugged quite a few MWs now, even successfully repaired a burnt coil on one. That was fun.

Not in picture, but I have a pair of 6x6x1/2" self-adhesive sound deadening open-cell foam that go with these.

These are still for sale. I've figured out a way to safely pack them in a $20 Priority box.
So $200 shipped US-48 only. The RD-0194/8 plates are the last ones for the foreseeable future...

I parted the semi-rings and bezels out as a favour. So ONLY the pair MW6502's are left. I boxed them back up and will offer them for $100 shipped Priority US-48 only.

You can’t drop in into a RTA12 nor models using the SL1000

    It’s assuredly been done
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Not true if you add a set of CRS+/SDA-2B x-overs into the equation. Eventually someone will do this to a set of 12's and experiment with tweeter placement.

As far as the MW6502 goes and one driver per speaker, in certain years: M4.5, M4, M5Jr+, M5, M7

Can you RDO any M4's? Would be a slick looking bookie too.

Maybe earlier M4's (kind of doubt it) but I checked the brochure and the M4 Series II had an SL1500 tweeter. Definitely looks like a smaller tweeter plate and dome too maybe. The M4.6 Series II had an SL2500 tweeter. Taller and deeper cabinet.

Curious "About" these phase plugs, you DIYed into existing Polk Mid woofers. Is there any thread with an explanation and measurements showing what they "Do" as far as in actual usage?

I know WHAT phase plugs are, just these specifically I mean....

They prevent the frequencies/signal at the center of the cone from cancelling and distorting.
After the mod, I found stereo imaging better improved on my monitors. I experimented with SDA-8TLs over the fall a few times and they improve the SDA imaging or soundstage imaging if you will, by more accurately syncing the inverted SDA signals.

I have a spare set of phase-plugged 6510's left over from that experiment also.
